Join the OARA
team
We're a federally registered not-for-profit on a mission to inspire the next generation of makers and innovators in Vernon, BC. If that excites you, we'd love to hear from you.
STEM Program Instructor
Lead hands-on robotics, coding, and maker sessions for students aged 6–18. You'll plan and deliver engaging weekly programs, guide students through real projects, and help build a love of STEM in our community. Experience with LEGO Spike, micro:bit, Scratch, or Python is a plus — but passion for youth education matters most.
Robotics Competition Coach
Support our FIRST LEGO League teams — Vernon Explorers (ages 6–9) and Mountain Shredders (ages 9–16) — through the competition season. Help students with robot design, programming strategy, and Core Values. Sessions run weekends and select weekday evenings from September through March.
Summer Camp Counsellor
Join our Summer Tech Camp team for July and August. You'll assist lead instructors in delivering daily STEM activities — robotics, coding, game design, animation, and more — while creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for campers aged 6–18.
We're always growing and open to hearing from enthusiastic educators, STEM mentors, and community builders. Tell us about yourself and what you'd love to contribute — we'll reach out when a match opens up.
Real Impact
Your work directly shapes how young people in Vernon experience STEM. Students leave with confidence and real skills.
Tight-Knit Team
Small team, close community. Everyone's contribution matters — you'll never be just a number here.
Hands-On Every Day
Robots, 3D printers, code, and curious kids. No two sessions are ever the same.
